I made the bar and tables (ones on the right with benches) for a local brewery. Did 8 tables with two benches each and two "L" shaped bars that were put together like a square. Took me over 2 months to do - one of my bigger projects . Still have some left over beer that they gave me...

Couldn't see across the parking lot that day - kinda sucked. Looks cool on a clear day though, On the way up...

Nothing. And I may have been overpaid.

Hey @Bernied - fellow USA rider here. Welcome!

The Peak to Peak Road - starts at 9:30 - is the road I live on.

I don't know how he got my friend's video (stole it probably) but this guy made a video about Colorado rides and used some video of us on Independence Pass. Fast forward to 5:22 if you can't be bothered to watch it all.

No - wish I did but already have too many expensive hobbies and I can't afford one like that.

I've planned a ride to Texas in late April - dunno if I can get out of here though. I'd say it's a 50/50 chance at this point. April and May are our snowiest months but I'm hoping for a gap with nice weather. Last year, on May 29th, I had to haul my bike to warmer climes to ride. Hopefully not his year. But in general, June 1st begins the riding season.

Cruised up the road a bit to Estes Park, Colorado to have lunch today with the wife. Looked cold outside so we ate inside today. I have the chicken tenders with chips (Nashville Hot style) while the wife had chicken and waffle with some chutney crap on top. Chicken and waffles is kind of a southern thing - kinda odd to see it this far west.

Have a great birthday, Fred!

Amazing what a small piece of plastic can do.

Should have mentioned that - the house was torn down as the property it was on was sold. The guy just wanted to save a bit of the house as a memory of his childhood and grandmother.

That must be the same storm that we had here 2 days ago - working it's way east

2F / -17C here today. Think I'll stay in.

This guy brought a bunch of old boards to me and asked if I could make a table out of them. The boards were the rough sawn oak floor joists from his Grandmother's 140 year old house in Nebraska. Had just enough material to make the top - the legs ands aprons were made from new oak and relic'd a bit. One of the more fun projects I've done.

It's no place for pussies, that's for sure. But the summers are really nice and you could explore loads of old ghost towns, mining sites, etc. around here.
-
There's 4-5 ghost towns within 5 miles of here. They're are all over the place.

Cruised over to Apex - a ghost town about a mile from my house - to see the front of the hold hotel has collapsed. Bummer. Hate to see it fall into further disrepair. Some then and now pics...

Same here - I have no idea what's going on. I do go to the sports book place to watch games and races though. Big assed TV's and free beer*. * Alcohol is free in Colorado casinos. Only supposed to get 3 drinks per hour but a well placed tip will eliminate that rule. Or you can just go to a different bar in the casino as they have 7-8 bars in them.

They don't make them posh with their own money - they use yours!
