  1. Stopped at a local fuel station and they sold race gas in 5 gallon containers. Dunno what the Amish do with race gas but it looked to be a big seller....
  2. So Saturday we had to cover about 600 miles from Athens, Ohio through Pennsylvania and into New York. We were greeted by wet and cloudy roads in Ohio as we covered the back roads north to Zanesville, Ohio. Lots of Amish buggies on the roads and lots of the associated horse shit as well, which in the rain can be very slick as you well know.
  3. Weather has totally sucked so far. But supposed to be nicer today. Yesterday had nice skies in the afternoon but cold. Should be better now.
  4. Today, Saturday, we head for Rochester, New York. Hoping for nicer weather and better pics along the way....
  5. Food sucked badly tonight, so no pics for @Pedro, pretty horrible family restaurant with a cute bartender. Got a substantial amount of Stella down my neck though so it wasn't a complete loss....
  6. The rain quit as we walked to dinner and exposed a cool rainbow. Hoping this means better weather today...
  7. On to our hotel for the night - why do our rooms always look like a shit bomb went off in them 5 minutes after our arrival?
  8. Then a quick tour of my Alma Mater - Ohio University ,,,,,,,,
  9. Posted some pics of this place before as well, but Debbie had never been here so we went. The Athens Insane Asylum - old loonie bin in Ohio
  10. But we managed to get 150 miles in before lunch. I've posted pics of this place before, but we hot the local Skyline Chili for lunch. Fuckin' excellent!
  11. Rain delayed our departure yet again. This rain shit is getting old really fast........
  12. On Friday, Clint picked us up for breakfast and drove us like a maniac to eat. Having survived that, we waited on Dave and Debbie to appear at our hotel. Clint is a "car guy" and it's always fun to drive with him...
  13. Todd can't remember what brand he ordered but knows it's gonna be at least 6 months to get one. Apparently there just aren't many, to be had unless you want a really basic one. "Supply chain issues" strike once again.
  14. Today we are headed to Athens , Ohio after meeting up with friends Dave and Debbie this morning. Pics to follow!
  15. We made it to Indy though. And went out to dinner and beers at the local heavy metal and burgers bar with my bud Clint. Food was perfect, beers were cold and the music was great. A really nice night....
  16. At another fuel stop we talked to a guy who's HD had taken a major shit and quit running. All of their gears was off the bikes and onto the parking lot as there tried to solve the issue. Ending up calling a tow truck as it was kaput. Felt sorry for the guy as we've all been there and it's no fun at all....
  17. Midwestern USA is dominated by huge flat plains and farmlands - so there' s really not shit to take pics of. Just miles upon miles of grasslands and corn fields. So not a lot of action pics today. It'll get better later. Ate at only the finest restaurants along the way. The Bell was closed to =inside dining so we opted for gas station food as it was the only place open. Taquitos!
  18. Todd w as sporting the very latest in technical riding gear as we prepared to leave his house..........
  19. Day 3 - Quite the long day as we dodged storms all day on our way to Indianapolis. The 500 race is this weekend so there was lots of traffic. Thanks to smartphones, we were able to locate the storms and ride around them and stayed dry most of thew day.
  20. No shit. Anyone can make a mistake - just own up to it and rectify the problem when it's discovered. To just ignore it shows a whole 'nuther level of stupidity.
  21. Day 2 - Day of rest today before we head to Indianapolis on the bikes tomorrow. Checked tire pressure on the bike but really don't have fuck all else to do until I pack up the bike tomorrow. Planning routes to get around the severe weather that the area is expecting tomorrow - tornados are in the forecast and it'd be cool to get some pics of one but I'd really rather not have to deal with it all. Heavy rains, too. Fun! Got to the store and picked up extra drinks for this evening. Check out Todd's little refrigerator on the kitchen counter -his regular refrig took a shit and died on him and the stores are empty when he went to order a new one. No word on when the one he ordered will be here. Could only fit 3 beers in for this evening.... such a tragedy!
  22. Although just a standard cab, it has a 4 feet wide by 8 feet plus bed on it - so it's pretty freakin long as far as pickup trucks go. Great for hauling tables that I make and also full sized bikes with the tailgate up.
  23. Had to hit the ubiquitous QT Mart as soon as I crossed into Missouri.......
  24. Fueling up the truck near home - Thanks Joe !
