  1. The scooter sits at the other end of the shop waiting for some wood to fall on it...
  2. Steel ball on a stick that will become a table leg someday soon...
  3. A machine designed to cut your hand off....
  4. Fingertip slicer, also known as a 12" jointer...
  5. How about a quick shop tour to waste some time? Powdercoating oven, a smaller oven at 36" X 36" X36"....
  6. Sitting in my shop in Denver and it's currently 37F /2.5C out. Gonna wait until it hits at least 45F / 7C before heading out as I'm a huge wuss and don't wanna freeze for the next 12 hours. Scooter is already to go...
  7. I don't ride enough in snowy weather to make it worth that much work. After this ride, I'll be off of the bike until May next year.
  8. I'm a wussy. I have to wear 3XL gloves due to having small, waif-ish, girly hands - can never find them in my size. And winter gloves just feel too bulky to me, so I always ride with vented summer gloves that fit me. But I thought this might be too cold of a trip to go on without thicker gloves.
  9. Sure do! Spooned on a set of Dunlop Trailmax Missions yesterday. Oil change done today so it's pretty much ready to roll....
  10. Wife will have to come get me in the truck if that happens, but I think I can get back to Denver next week with not too many issues. But I got some new waterproof and windproof gloves (says so right on the label so it must be true) just for this trip Never had winter gloves before...
  11. I probably won't have time for breakfast - it'd blow off my plate anyway
  12. But once I get outta Kansas, the rest of the ride should be pretty nice as far as weather goes. Couple of days in the Deal's Gap area of Tennessee before steering the big blue turd for Texas and then home. Pics to follow....
  13. Snowing like a bitch up here in the mountains right now ...
  14. The real fun is gonna be in Kansas tomorrow - looks to be a bit breezy...
  15. I took my bike down to Denver and stored it in my shop as they're not expecting snow there. We should get about 8-10" at my house tonight so I'll have to drive teh truck to Denver and then hop on the bike...
  16. Kinda against my better judgement, but I'm gonna squeeze in one more trip between snow storms this coming week. 4,000 miles back east, then south and returning to Colorado via Texas (for the warmth and a stop at the Big Texan in Amarillo). Hope to miss the snow here but should be good once east of the Mississippi River. Headed out Wednesday morning as soon as it gets warm enough.
  17. Same here. Need to get there before I get too old to do it.
  18. Maybe, but that's just as entertaining sometimes.
  19. It goes on like that for hundreds of miles. Really have to watch your fuel levels and fuel range when you're out here - buy fuel when you can, not when you need it.
  20. I got home yesterday at 4:00 PM. My butt is sore.
  21. Edit: Just looked them up, I guess those are prong horns. Didn't know they got that big - up to 150 lbs. ( 70 kg).
  22. Thanks for coming along with me on the trip and reading the posts!
