  1. Some more Then and Now pics of my local area. We always called this place the "Schiller Hotel" - I had no idea that it had been named a bunch of other names over the years. Anyway, found some cool colorized pics of the place. dates range from the 1880's to the 1940's....
  2. Antler's Inn at 17:19 in Walden! We will be staying here on trip next month - on the return from Montana.
  3. Cool! They wen t over Route 14 / Cameron Pass. Pretty decent ride to do. See some pics of it here:
  4. My pineapple shirts look a bit different upon closer inspection as well. Shirt even has a nice concealed carry slot on the inside.
  5. Saturday is the Bike MS Colorado Multiple Sclerosis bike ride. I'll be a course marshal on my Tenere along with about 8 other moto guys. It's gonna be like herding kittens to keep the bicyclists on the route. Will try to take some pics to post.
  6. It's funniest one of the made up holidays. Some black college professor made it up and gave it a African sounding name to lend some validity to it. Total bullshit. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwanzaa (Sorry, I misspelled it above - two "a")
  7. Made up bullshit holiday for the Afro American crowd. Rates right up there with kwanza.
  8. I have to ask; why? Jacksonville is a dump.
  9. Two more bigger trips on plan for this summer. One - up to Montana and back in July. Two - Solo trip to North Carolina and back in late August. Hope to get in some smaller, weekend type trips around here as well.
  10. Probably another reason why they rarely go over 45-50 mph. Slowest guys I've ever ridden with.
  11. Yup. They rode out here via South Dakota so that they could skip Nebraska (which has a helmet law) and not wear helmets the entire way out and back. The noise, wind, sun, bugs and other crap in your face is enough to make me wear one - crash safety issues aside.
  12. Shit, that thing isn't even road legal ! It's an off road side by side. In many of the smaller towns here, the cops ignore no reg, no lights etc of the tourist vehicles as they bring in all of the cash that the town needs to survive. Guy drove that into town from the trails to eat, get fuel, etc. Not unusual to see full blown motocross bike being ridden down the high street and cops ignore it. If the rider doesn't do anything stupid (wheelies, etc.) the cops don't care.
  13. It does kinda suck. But my bike would have a million miles on it if I could ride all year - I need the break!
  14. Yup - it'll be here all year, never melts completely. Hell, it just snowed about 3 weeks ago.
  15. Aspen,. being lower, was very warm. And it was getting dark. So I gassed up, said bye to my friends and hauled non-stop all the way back home, arriving after dark. Didn't take a single pic on the way back - sorry. But still, another successful ride.
  16. My wife's nieces are named Emma and Gabby - they're gonna love this pic....
  17. Tibetan monk guy at the top along with a lot of other tourists...
  18. Wish I could day that I was a fan of these bikes, but alas....
  19. Cooler but very windy at the Pass....
  20. Up and over Independence Pass on our way to Aspen for fuel.....
  21. Town was hoppin' though - lots of tourists in the area. The major roads were also crowded as people are getting out now that Covid seems to be over with
  22. Stopped off at the Silver Dollar Saloon in Leadville for lunch (see: https://legendarysilverdollarsaloon.com/history ) . It sucked beyond all that has sucked before. I haven't eaten there in 10 years and it'll be at least another 10 before I go back....
