  1. Damn - gonna have to step up my game to become a special type of weirdo.
  2. Our cars in the '70's were fast as a scalded dog in a straight line, but had no brakes or turning abilities. That's why drag racing is so popular here. My older brother had 2-3 Ford Mustang Mach 1's when we were kids. They did last too long due to interactions with fence posts, ditches, other vehicles, etc. He always had new cars as he bought them himself - they cost about $3,500 new back then. Worth 15 times that today.
  3. It sounded like 8 mpg ?. I sold it when gas got up to $0.65 per gallon as it cost too much to fill it up. Stupid kid.
  4. Also had a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger when I was a kid. This thing towed motocross bikes on a trailer all across the Midwest USA when I was racing back then...
  5. After the demise of the T/A, I had a Fiat X-1/9. The single biggest turd of a car in history. Had it for about a year and it caught on fire twice!
  6. 1970 Pontiac Trans Am - I had one in 1975. 450 bhp car that had virtually no brakes in the hands of a 16 year old. What could possibly go wrong?
  7. I'd like to as well, but that's a perfect way to get yourself shot here.
  8. My inner redneck agrees.
  9. Headed home as it was starting to get cold again. We decided to attempt a ride to 3 day, 1,300 mile Utah this coming weekend - should have tons of great pics and some videos from that trip. Until then....
  10. Stopped by the local biker hangout in Deckers on the way home. Late in the day so not too many scooters here today. Just some loud assed HD's....
  11. Phil likes to keep his bikes as clean as @XTreme does. So naturally I took him on some dirt to get his bike messy. Made me giggle thinking of him polishing the bike for 8 hours after he gets home....
  12. Victor was really hopping, the streets teeming with activity and people. OK, maybe not....
  13. The food, although tainted with diesel and probably toxic, tasted pretty good. We had the cheeseburgers and fries with a side of chips and salsa.... (Food pics for @Pedro )
  14. Being Easter Sunday, most places were closed for the holiday, but we found an old bar that was open with a limited menu. Dunno about eating in a place that's using old diesel oil drums as a bar though....
  15. Sign on the bridge said "No stopping on bridge" so we did. Fuck'em - we'll do as we please. Didn't you see the truck? This here is "Murica !
  16. Manmade hill of gold mine tailings - freakin' huuuge...
  17. We passed through some old gold mining sites - which were posted as no trespassing, so we didn't. Would love to go down there though.....
  18. Tried to get some decent pics of the snowy mountains in the distance, but it was an uncharacteristically cloudy day so they don't show up very well....
  19. Hammered down the road for a while and stopped for a pee break (as you do). Ice fishermen were loving the warmer weather. I know the ice is really thick, but I still wouldn't walk out there on it...even with my svelte, lithe and somewhat waif-like profile....
  20. Ok, technically the 2nd ride, but this was the first one that actually went anywhere. A little 375 mile jaunt with my bud Phil on his GS. We met up at a fuel station in southern Colorado as Phil lives about 75 miles away from me. Saw @Tym 's truck there. "Murica dammit".
  21. Statewide Mask mandate has been lifted for our county and all is pretty much back to normal for us. More urban parts of the State still have some restrictions, but none out here in the boonies.
  22. Shit, I've been there so it has to be relatively famous.
  23. Shoveling snow and chipping away at the ice underneath in an effort to clear the driveway. Imagine the fun!
  24. It's getting out of our county that's the problem - side roads are still snow packed after getting about 10" on Monday. BUT - it's warm today and expected to be decent the next couple of days, so we might be able to get out on bikes. But we still can't really plan on anything. So if we can get out, we might do a 2-3 day ride or something. But it'll be very last minute.
  25. You successfully used tools? I thought I felt the Earth shake a bit....
