Sorry, lost internet connection. Anyway, we did mostly highway driving to get west and outta the cold. But even highway riding in Colorado isn't all that bad...

Left home at 11:00 AM yesterday and headed west - 28F / -3C as I left. We didn't see temps above freezing for 2 hours. Once we got out of teh mountains, it got up to 50F / 10C and we were in heaven. As it was so cold, I didn't take too many pics, just one while waiting on my bud Phil to show up in Idaho Springs..

My guess is that those things ain't exactly cheap, either.

Headed to Moab, Utah to ride this weekend. But right now, it's 24F (-5 C) so we've had to delay our departure until the temp gets up to 40F (+5C). Should be up there around 1:00 PM local time., Once we get out of the mountains, the weather should be about 65F (18C). First couple of hours on the bike are gonna be chilly though!

Phil clamped it to the back of my bike - I had no idea that it even let go until I turned to see where Phil had gone. Just scratched it a little, but it still works.

Phil did a small video from Sunday....
-
Not yet - I've been busy.

Put a hat on it and no one will notice.
-
But it's really nice for about 2 months a year! ?

A mid eighties Ford F150? Why? Bet it's for sale and it's cheap, too!

I could unleash my inner perv and let loose a list of perversions that would make you blush. But I'm far too nice of a guy to do that.

And those bumpers weight about 150 pounds each. Super thick steel on those things.

Damn - gonna have to step up my game to become a special type of weirdo.

Our cars in the '70's were fast as a scalded dog in a straight line, but had no brakes or turning abilities. That's why drag racing is so popular here. My older brother had 2-3 Ford Mustang Mach 1's when we were kids. They did last too long due to interactions with fence posts, ditches, other vehicles, etc. He always had new cars as he bought them himself - they cost about $3,500 new back then. Worth 15 times that today.

It sounded like 8 mpg ?. I sold it when gas got up to $0.65 per gallon as it cost too much to fill it up. Stupid kid.

Also had a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger when I was a kid. This thing towed motocross bikes on a trailer all across the Midwest USA when I was racing back then...

After the demise of the T/A, I had a Fiat X-1/9. The single biggest turd of a car in history. Had it for about a year and it caught on fire twice!

1970 Pontiac Trans Am - I had one in 1975. 450 bhp car that had virtually no brakes in the hands of a 16 year old. What could possibly go wrong?

I'd like to as well, but that's a perfect way to get yourself shot here.

My inner redneck agrees.

Headed home as it was starting to get cold again. We decided to attempt a ride to 3 day, 1,300 mile Utah this coming weekend - should have tons of great pics and some videos from that trip. Until then....

Stopped by the local biker hangout in Deckers on the way home. Late in the day so not too many scooters here today. Just some loud assed HD's....

Phil likes to keep his bikes as clean as @XTreme does. So naturally I took him on some dirt to get his bike messy. Made me giggle thinking of him polishing the bike for 8 hours after he gets home....
