  1. Thanks - I think we'll need a fair bit of luck for this ride to even happen. If the forecast at time of departure calls for any snow, we'll have to delay it. Simply can't ride in deep snow.
  2. That would be the optimal way to do this trip really. Not a bad idea!
  3. It won't be bad at all if it doesn't snow much. 2-3 feet of snow will put a real damper on things?. Hopefully that won't happen or we'll have to scrub the ride.
  4. Trip will include stops at Cedar City, Utah, Eureka, NV, Lake Tahoe / Reno and a few National Parks along the way. If the weather holds out, it should be a fantastic ride to begin our season. If the weather doesn't cooperate, then it'll suck more balls than have ever been sucked on a bike trip. It will be memorable either way.
  5. Against my better judgement, my buddy Phil and I are going to attempt a ride from Denver to Sacramento, California beginning on 8 April, 2021. April is the snowiest month for our area, so we're hoping there will be no major snowstorms happening that week. It'll be chilly both at altitude and in the deserts of Nevada and Utah as we head west. Basic route is pictured below. 1,400 miles each direction with about 2-1/2 days each way to complete the trip with 2-3 days in Sacramento area. As usual, anyone that wants to join us is welcome - just let me know.
  6. Last night I had a standing rib roast in an aus jus reduction with garlic mashed potato at the Shaggy Sheep in Grant, Colorado. $3 ice cold Stellas, too. So tender the meat fell apart with a fork, no knife needed. Excellent.
  7. Hit the local Mexican place again last night (only place open past 8:00 PM these days). Food was okay but the beers were freakin' brilliant! Ice cold and foamy - had to have two. It'd be rude not to.
  8. Search : " Ronnie Johns - Chopper - Harden the Fuck Up on YouTube and you should see it.
  9. I'm there with ya - a nice lightly fried schnitzel is hard to beat. But I hate them when they're thick, heavily breaded and greasy.
  10. Nope - all of my relatives are Germans, no Frenchies. Germans do have some odd foods, but I stay away from them. Hated the foods my grandmothers made and some that my mother made. Nasty shit.
  11. Are you challenging me? I'll try to find some puke gif worthy food for you, Pete. I most likely won't be eating it , but the Wife will occasionally get some dinner that I'd never touch.
  12. It's like a fuckin' geriatric ward around here?
  13. I've been wearing Dainese 4 Stroke gloves for a few years now - on my 3rd pair. I started with them as there were available in a 3XL for my big hands. Stayed with them as they fit great, are comfy and last a long time. Like most things Dainese,. they ain't exactly cheap, but I feel they're worth it.
  14. It gets down to 35F (1C) in the summer here; usually around 4:00 AM . But will be interesting to see. A 50-60 degree change (in F) in one day isn't unusual.
  15. Not here. Normally, there are around 12-15 players to a team in USA high school basketball. Our school has 7 players. Three of which don't really wanna be there and 2 that can actually play and / or shoot. The opposing teams are from very small towns as well and are in a similar situation with players. Can barely field enough guys to complete a team.
  16. Basketball tournament at the local school this weekend and I have building duty all weekend. So I guess I'll be watching a lot of basketball?
  17. My favorite tool in my shop; the Mighty Logan. Turning a shock preload spacer for a guy out of 3" aluminum bar stock...
  18. Well, my wife had to drive us home, so no drinks for her. Her two friends weren't drinking for some unknown reason so that left me.
  19. It's kinda odd when no one else at the table is drinking and you're sitting there on your fifth beer during dinner. Makes ya look like a drunk as it is.?
  20. Mexican restaurant - that's all they had!
