Just went out to do a few miles because the weather looks like it's going to be a complete wipeout over the next few weeks. So there I was......wobbling along some rural backroad in Dagosville and I caught sight of something way back from the road. I'd never noticed it before.....and it appeared to be an abandoned industrial unit. The faded signs showed that it had previously been used for the manufacturing of plastics and metalwork! So in I went to check it out! So here it is......The Return of Dark Motorcycling!

At last I'm now allowed to go outside the town perimeter. However it was 12c with grey skies and terrible light.......typical UK scenario. Absolutely grim! It's very difficult to get a decent pic or vid in those conditions but I gave it a go. The whole thing is pretty bleak really.....sort of like being back in Britain! But without the braindead twats staggering round obviously. So welcome to my nightmare!

......and yes, still no place to go! Well apart from the same roads within the perimeter of the town! Even worse, it was 22C here today as well......abandoned railway station and abandoned village conditions really. However, I did find one derelict building on the way out......so that cheered me up a bit! Because after all, we all need our fix of devastation to lighten our mood!

Still restricted to within the town perimeters......and I'm running short of roads now. But checking back on my Beemer pics it seems I'd never taken it to Las Santas......so off I went. 18c and blue skies so great conditions for February.....and the run enabled me to clock up 80 kms/50 miles over this weekend! This is Iron Butt shit right here!

Still can't leave the perimeters of the town area so it was up into the mountains via a different route. Going this way you encounter about 20 miles of narrow single lane roads with literally hundreds of bends......and they're coming up every 100 yards or so. It was 15C in the town when I left, but going up in altitude the temperature drops considerably......I gotta get my bloody handguards fitted soon. So here you go......if you're totally locked down you may find this content distressing.

Another abandoned station on the GSSR route in Southern Spain - Fines-Olula in Almeria. It was a busy station both in passenger traffic and materials from Olula del RÃo, Fines, and Macael......mainly marble. Like all of them it was closed on 31st December 1984. This is Dark Motorcycling!

Continuing on my search for abandoned railway stations located on the old GSSR route (closed in 1985) I was planning to visit Tijola today. But looking at the map I realised I hadn't done El Hijate yet, despite having done the stations before and after it. So I thought I'd better pick that one up before I get further into Almeria itself. Here's the map so far......the green spots are where I've already been. In the interests of authenticity I managed to locate an old photo of El Hijate station in what appears to be around the 1950's. That was then..... And this is now.... Read on for Rugged Individualism! Of the stations I've done so far this is the smallest. It's also the one in the worst condition by far! This is the Via Verde (Greenway).....I'd like to have ridden up that! But there's big fines for motorised vehicles accessing them! Hikers, Spandex twats on bicycles no problem! Initially the building itself doesn't seem too bad....... Then you look inside....... Couple of outbuildings are not much better...... Then it was clamber over bushes and banks to get back to the Strom before the place collapsed on top of me! And back up the gravel road where I'd come in! Go ahead Tym......Tweet this shit!

Out by 10 and back by 1........to visit the old Railway Station in Seron, Almeria! The line originally opened in 1894, and finally closed in 1984. And unlike many of these places, they've left a lot of the original elements in place including some of the tracks. You can also see where the locomotive turntable was, and some of the buildings have been restored.

Took a run through the cave house region of Galera......and it was bloody hot. In fact it was too hot to take a load of pics, but I think the vid will give you a general idea of what cave houses are like. Don't ask me the logic of wanting to live in one........I live in a house! They're mainly popular with foreigners as they're seen as fashionable.......and with gypsies because they're cheap! In their case, if they find the family keeps growing and they don't have enough bedrooms, they start digging and create another one.

Despite scorching temperatures I went to check out the abandoned railway station in Gor. And even though I'm 66, I don't let little things like heatstroke, dehydration and physical exhaustion interfere with rugged individualism. Like all the other stations, Gor was closed on 31st December 1984! No restoration done on this one......so it was the real deal! I really liked this one because I could get inside to do a walkthrough.......real Twilight Zone feel to it. Watch the vid to get the vibe! First.....here's the updated map! A green spot denotes that it's been visited!

On the trail of the abandoned Railway Stations again! And today is Zujar-Freila! Easy to access (unlike Gorafe) and in a very poor condition. But at least there were no goats in it! What makes this station very different from the others is that it was featured in the 1959 film North West Frontier starring Kenneth More, Lauren Bacall, and Herbert Lom. The vid I made is a bit different too......with footage from the film along with some clips of the station as it is now! Or rather, what's left of it! Here's the updated map.......stations visited have the green dots! Here's the vid........quite a mix of stuff in it!

Temps 25 degrees and never seen so many bikes out as there were today. Literally hundreds of them! But it's the first weekend that we can cross into other provinces since the start of March.......so everybody's out. I'd have liked to have gone down into the mining complex itself.....but that would have involved scaling down the banks on very tricky surfaces. I thought better of it.....because at 66 I'm in no fit state to fall off mountains!

In accordance with the restrictions here in Spain I went out to get a coffee! And somehow I took the wrong turning again and ended up in the middle of nowhere! Damn Google Maps!
