It had some signage in front of it with historical facts, so I assume it's been rehabbed a bit by some historical society, etc.

Yup. The rock here is mostly granite and marble -  very hard to work with when all you have is rudimentary tools like these folks had 100+ years ago. All they had they brought with them from back east - nowhere to buy anything here.

Dinners tonight. I had a boring burger, so no pics of fhat.

Thesae are:

1 - Elk meat suasages, cole slaw,mac and cheese

2 - grilled salmon steak and collared greens

3 - Pulled pork and mac and cheese

I mispelled it. from Google:

Collards are members of the cabbage family (Brassica oleracea), and a staple side dish in Southern cooking. They feature dark green leaves and tough stems that need to be removed before eating. The flavor of collards is a cross between cabbage and hearty kale, similar to Swiss chard.

Went to google it too, a sort of cabbage, by the looks of it it’s also very common here. My favourite soup is made with them and chorizo, Caldo Verde
