Rally for Rangers Launches Kickstarter to Fund Documentary

Around the world, park rangers are on the front line in the battle against poaching and other threats to our fragile environment and historic sites. They are understaffed, under-equipped, and face constant threats. The mission of Rally for Rangers is to protect the world’s special places one motorcycle at a time. By the end of 2020, Rally for Rangers and its volunteers will have personally delivered and donated over 125 new motorcycles to national parks in Mongolia, Argentina, Nepal, and Bhutan, helping to protect critically endangered species and threatened world heritage sites. This documentary tells the story.

By visually capturing the work of the rangers, the beauty and significance of the wildlife, landscapes, and history they protect, and by showing the dedication of the volunteers who support them through personal risk and sacrifice to deliver new motorcycles, we hope to grow the movement - to raise awareness, increase support, and help more rangers in their battle to end poaching and species decline and protect threatened world heritage. This documentary is a call to action.

Rally for Rangers brings together adventurous philanthropists from around the world who want to make a difference. Motorcyclists from Mongolia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, U.S.A., Canada, Singapore, Germany, Denmark, Lebanon, Israel, and more have participated in these rallies and made a lasting difference.

Around the world, critically important natural and cultural resources are under constant threat. Wildlife and rare plants are routinely poached. Illegal mining, development, and illicit drug trade devastates landscapes. Cultural antiquities are stolen or damaged. Often the only thing between the permanent loss of this natural and cultural heritage is a sole park ranger. And all too often that ranger is ill-equipped to protect against those threats. Rally for Rangers is changing that.

One need not look far to see the threats facing the environment and to know that our work is just beginning. Rangers in places like Africa, Central America, throughout Asia and beyond are struggling to protect our shared heritage and future. Everyone has role. Some spread the word through social media or word of mouth. Others attend events or donate their time and money to the cause. And a few, a growing number who have the spirit of adventure, the drive to challenge themselves to make a difference, and the will to endure hardship and danger, they get to deliver the goods, make life-long friends, and help protect the worlds special places one motorcycle at a time.
