But I used the technique I use when I need to hold Costa in the vet and it worked a treat. But today we had a cat with serious skin problems in need of a skin scratch sample and a blood sample. To my horror I was told that I would probably be holding it down, but @Sofiamanaged to do all of it with minimal fuss and I had to do nothing except hold a little bit of cotton to stop the blood after the sample was taken. I was scared shitless through the entire thing and I swear he could see the terror in my eyes when he looked at me while I was holding his paw and was evaluating how many more seconds he would give me before tearing my face to shreds. All was ok and I managed to not be mauled, but this is a very unhappy cat: Wow, that can be interesting work. I volunteered for awhile at a vet / animal shelter and saw some really crazy stuff. I was lucky most of the time but once had a freaked out cat get loose, it ran into a shower room for the dogs and the floor was wet, the cat turned, I slipped and it ripped me to shreds before heading out the door and down the next hallway. 2
