XTreme
Just over 2 weeks.......and bloody Xmas is here! God I hate Xmas.......loved it in the 70's out on the razzle and screwing slags though! I remember Xmas Eve 72......overturning my mate's Anglia van in a ditch while out in a remote area of Swansea with two slags! We had to walk miles to get back to civilization and then book a recovery truck to get the van out on Xmas Day. Picked my mate up from work (he was a chef in a hospital) early afternoon to collect the van......I was on a Suzuki Hustler and he was too fucking pissed to stand up. Ended up riding there while holding him on the back of the bike at the same time cos he'd passed out! Great days! What's your wild Xmas memories prior to us all becoming old and fucked?

boboneleg
I can remember coming out of the pub on xmas eve and having a huge snowball fight with my mates. Then driving my Escort van (I was more upmarket than you Pete ) back across Bristol. I took the side roads to avoid the old bill but hit at least two cars (at very slow speed) because of the snow. On the Cumberland Basin flyover, I stopped the van , opened the door and pucked into the snow. At this point my mate had enough and comandeered the driving seat, he drove the rest of the way home. My mate apparently had another kerffufle with some big dude who accused him of tampering with his mum, I had no idea about any of this as I was comatose in the back of my van I wasn't the prettiest sight on xmas morning and I had no idea where my van was for the next three days.

At last......I've found another devotee of the Keith Moon/Bon Scott lifestyle in their younger days! The rest of this lot are pathetic Bob.......they were probably at home wearing their Xmas jumpers and listening to Max Bygraves albums!

I reckon Fred might have a few tales and we have to remember that a certain someone on here used to ride around naked in the desert so I'm sure he's got some tales.
Grasshopper
My craziest Christmas was when I first moved to the west coast, from Ontario, Canada to British Columbia. I became a rock climber and was spending my time with some interesting folk. For Christmas we piled into a friend's VW Van and drove up to Whistler Ski Resort in the mountains. We drove down a back road as far as the purple bus would take us and then parked it in the snow and hiked in. We had very little food, a few boxes of wine and some stuff I think you smoke. . We had so many toys, crazy carpets (look it up), ice axes, climbing gear, snowboards, etc.... We set up camp and for the next few days we partied and played in the snow. Good Times!! ohh.....then there was that Christmas with the Australians and the abandoned house that almost burnt down......and the TV that blew up......that was also a good one! 2

yen_powell
Back when I was about 18 and I was working at a badly paid, filthy and dangerous job in a scrap yard, I was asked to work on Christmas day for some super dooper stock taking exercise. It was triple pay or something like that so I said yes. There were about 5 of us due to be in, including a new bloke called Lionel. Lionel came to work on the bus, he would have to walk to work on Christmas morning as there would be no public transport. Lionel asked another bloke called Dave, who had a car, if he would mind dropping him home in his lunch hour on Christmas day so he could at least sit down to Christmas dinner with his wife and very small children, he wouldn't have time otherwise. Dave told him to sod off! Feeling sorry for him, I said I would drop him home and pick him up again if he didn't mind being on the back of a motorbike in the midst of winter. Thank you Yen he said, oh and by the way, you are invited to Christmas dinner with us. The bloke called Dave immediately said he didn't mind dropping him off after all if there was a dinner in it for him. Lionel just gave him a withering look and walked away. So that year I ate a very fast Christmas dinner with Lionel who I'd known for a few weeks, his wife and two small toddlers who kept up a barrage of questions about who the hell I was and why I was there as they ate. The I had to go home and eat another one in the evening! 1
Pedro
I never did anything on christmas, two of my grandparents died on christmas though, and although that doesn't haunt me it made for a few unpleasant years of christmas, as the whole family simply endured that. To be honest, I never did anything fun on christmas and always spent it at home, there is not much of a culture of going to parties or hanging out with friends for christmas here in Portugal. Since becoming a teenager Christmas has always been something I sort of just endure and suffer through, although Maria did enjoy it and I had a couple of nice ones with her, also as a family. Now, I'm back to just getting through it, last year I retreated to my home and had a warm meal in front of the fireplace, with a great bike ride the day after, this year I will probably do the same.

For the next 10 years I was in bush doing exploration work for the mining houses in greenfield geology exploration. This taken when I visited an uncle for Christmas after coming out the field. They wanted the pic to send to my mum. She had a shit fit over it. Why was that Bruce?

Sir Fallsalot
The only Christmas partying i regularly get involved with is the company works do. Its usually a free event payed for with the scrap cable saved through the year and most years its a mess and accompanied by total memory loss which isn't a bad thing because i don't think i'd like to remember what happened the night before some of the mornings i woken up to which has included a broken jaw one year and a broken collar bone a couple of years ago, so missing this years works do could turn out to be a good thing LOL 1
