But I agree they don't look the part. The upside is that when you buy a bike that the owner has fitted these to, you can be pretty sure it's never been used offroad or for anything that's going to push it hard. I went for a walk in the snow and then sent her this photo with the message; " been to check on your car, he's much happier now..."
