Motobiker
Not really a nature photo, but I went outside for a cuppa last night at 4am and took this photo of Orion, with a handheld phone camera and it really blows me away that such a sharp image is even possible in those circumstances.

The top left star of Orion was the one they thought was going to go bang a few months ago due to its dimming and brightening. You mustn't say the star's name three times though or Michael Keaton appears. 1

yen_powell
Sunset in Southend on Sea this evening that looked very like a nuclear bomb going off over the Isle of Sheppey in one picture. Is the other disc above the nuclear explosion the moon?? Also The Kursaal, scene of crime for Doctor Feelgood, now sad and abandoned. I was about 4 feet from a seagull this evening, he was flying but due to the wind he was flying into, he was stationary right in front of me, a very odd feeling being eye to eye.

I never noticed a Tesco Express. Decline and closure (1973–1986) The Kursaal as a whole had been in gradual decline since the early 1970s, with the outdoor amusements closing in 1973.[15] At the end of 1977 the decision was made to close the ballroom, with the main building finally succumbing in 1986. The outdoor amusement area was later redeveloped for housing. Main building reopening (1998) In 1998 the main Kursaal building was reopened after a multimillion-pound redevelopment by the Rowallan Group containing a bowling alley, a casino and other amusements.[15] The building originally contained a McDonald's, but the fastfood chain left in 2008.[18] The bowling alley closed permanently in 2019, and the casino closed permanently in 2020. This currently leaves only a Tesco Express store occupying part of this historic building.

Cupid Stunt
I remember the Kurzel, I went on the airplanes but didn't know they went upside down when you turned the steering wheel and I lost all the change out of my pockets As kids we used to jump over the fence at Debden station, ride the underground train to Stratford jump onto the British Rail train to Southend and pay at Southend saying we just came from Westcliff 1

However your comment made me search youtube for video of these planes. Worth watching the whole thing, but should start at some aircraft going around. Are these the ones that turned upside down? The bit that affected me most was the centrifuge thing where you stick to the walls (from 2:20 onwards), I used to come out of that fighting to hold on to my dinner at my own local fair.
boboneleg
That takes me back @yen_powell . Southend was almost my second home in the '90's . I used to do a lot of trips to Shoeburyness delivering ordnance and used to stay in a guesthouse on the sea front, can't remember the name now but the owner was the son of an Italian guy who fought with the allies in WW2. They were very proud of his choice not to stick with the Germans.

Grasshopper
Just bringing the thread back around to nature There was a strange disturbance earlier, but peace has now been restored.... This is a place called Smuggler's Cove, we hike there often. On this occasion it was cloudy but still beautiful.
