I had 5 and have lost 3 recently. Its so painful I dont think Ill have another dog.

The last one got so thin before she went she was having raw feed with a slice of chopped streaky bacon, a dollop of smooth pate, a heaped tablespoon of weight gain powder and 3 drops of cannnabis oil. I haven’t been able to eat bacon since!! ?

The CBD oil did a remarkable job. Its worth considering if your old dog is arthritic. Works exceptionally well for arthritis. She started running again a week after she started that stuff. My other half has back and neck pain from decades of front row rugby and found it impossible to sleep through the night even with amitriptyline, now he doesnt even need it. Anyway heres a link to the dog rescue that sells the good stuff, I’m sure they’ll be a Canadian equivalent.

thanks for this website, i keep trying to find alternatives for this treatment here in portugal and struggling. I recomend this a lot to seniors. Now I have a pet food with it included!

Thanks, we have tried some of that CBD oil and it has improved her mobility somewhat.

It is a hard thing to watch as they age, I will for sure take a break after this one to have some freedom and travel.

But I will most likely have some dogs when I am an old lady chasing people off my land with a shovel.... ?

Why do you say that?! You are the last person I can imagine chasing anyone with a shovel! It strikes me your super power is in approaching things softly, not with force. Embrace it, its a great quality!

Like the Queen said about the tragedy of 9/11, "Grief is the price you pay for Love" .

Dogs teach us that Love is always worth it and also loyalty no matter what!

They are amazing teachers and you are caring for your dog in the best way possible, not sleeping to stay with her ans seating there in silence is magical and difficult in equal measure. Well done!!

You're bang on Lionel, there will be no blossom left by next week if it keeps blowing.

These birds out at Chew Valley lake are very friendly and looked happy after a long day of being fed by the flocks of visitors who come to stare. A magic window appears on a Sunday after 6/7pm when everyone just goes home. The roads are lovely and empty and it’s easy to get close to things you want to see. I apologise for the quality of these pics, its finally tipped me over into wanting to get a reasonable camera and learning what all that iso, f’s, aperture shutter speed stuff does cos with a decent camera and/or skill some of these would have been so much better.
