Buckster
Lockdown is a conspiracy to make me buy stuff for the bike. I thought this would be a bigger job but in reality only took 30 minutes. the standard headlight looked like this. First job was to remove this and the backing cup. to get to this point, on some earlier models there is a section back there that needs cutting out, however this is not the case with mine. Then it was a simple job to bolt in the mounting basket for the new headlight. Then pop the new headlight in with the retaining ring. I did not connect the halo ring as I was not happy to use the existing spade connectors, I have some Molex waterproof two pin connectors which I will put on in a few days once I dig them out. I then fitted the existing bezel but it really needs a deeper one so I will be ordering that. I still need to adjust the aim but for now it looks good. Low beam. High beam.
XTreme
@Buckster posted photos? And why is your fork dented?
Buckster
Just now, XTreme said: @Buckster posted photos? And why is your fork dented? It’s just the dust cover, it does not contact with the fork and I have not got around to replacing it.
Slowlycatchymonkey
There are metal dust covers? Dumb question but how do they stay up/attach?

There are screws on the inside that go into the bottom yoke so you have to drop the fork leg out to replace them.

Earache
Let us know what difference it makes for night riding. I need to add one of these to my Duc as the OEM light sucks. Looks good!

That is only if using an led bulb in a halogen headlamp, a purpose made led headlamp unit is fine.

Slowlycatchymonkey
So an LED bulb in a halogen headlamp is much brighter than it should be?

I think its also to do with the reflector being designed for the bulb that's supposed to be in there not a HID or LED unit
