It's hiding under some covers When Triumph first fired up again and came to the US this was the first one I saw. And that bike set the squirrels in my head spinning wildly. So much so that eventually we captured a Tiger and made her our ow.
Gnomad
We have our 2003 Girlie, and to be honest it's been the perfect bike over the years we've owned it. We also have a Kwacker Ninja 500 we bought for Jan's son Alex, he sometimes spends summers with us here in the US and we sometimes work him like a rented mule. To thank him and to ensure he has a way to get around to see his brother and some girls he met we keep itnaround....and Jan will be using it this summer as it doesn't look like Alex will be getting here this summer.
Gnomad
Just now, BusBoy said: I think they are good looking bikes and they go well enough given their age (Brakes / shocks etc) but the early carby ones like mine sound like a tin bucket full of bolts being shaken about. I was quite dismayed when I put her back together but "they all do that sir" was the tide of feed back from the Triumph forum. My first Triumph was a 95 Sprint and it sounded like an old diesel at idle, and Tigey doesn't sound much better. At least the newer ones don't have the starter sprag gear fail and require splitting the case to replace it. Apparently that happened to the guy I sold the Sprint to, as he mentioned it in the Craigslist listing when he was selling it. I recognized it from the D&D race pipes on the bike and it was capable of sounds similar to an F1 car.

Specs
Bloody hell. I remember following you going to Tregaron with the first wide boxes on. Thought that you were going to ground out, and disappear through a hedge on every corner.

Specs
I got this after getting back into biking - brother and his grandson posing. Then there was this. This was at Land's End after setting off from Joh'n o Groats the day before and riding through the night. Had a test ride one one of these so had to get one. This was somewhere near the Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon, I think. Not mine , a hire bike, but I like the photo - in South Africa. And then I got myself a KTM. This was on Skye. Loved the bike, but it was too tall and I was always afraid of dropping it. So I got one of these. This was a quick weekend over in Normandy for tax purposes! Unfortunately I put it through a hedge. This was the replacement being craned off the ship I was on, up in Scotland, so that I could go for a ride. Lots of bikers on there, including the captain. I acquired The Turd round about this time. Sold it to a mate at cost as he was bike less at the time. He made a fortune out of it when his neighbour drove over it and it was written off. The Turd is dead. Long live The Turd. Never comfortable with the bike after the hedge incident so got one of these. This was in Romania I think on the way back from Greece. I got this as a project which never got off the ground so virtually gave it away to a new home. Now I have this. And this.

XTreme
The Turd was stuck in my garage for ages! Magnum asked me to do a real clean up job on it. And it looked pretty sharp after! I gave it a test ride......it was fucking awful! Eventually he came and got it......then rode the wrong way up a dual carriageway! What a cunt! Fuel manifold was shagged as was the rear shock. Still good for 100+ . The last owner was quite taken with it.

Our 5 day route took us into the Karoo and is 2500km Next week maybe. I only had four days, was paying off a ship with flight booked, and limited internet and maps for planning. The two objectives I had were Cape Agulhas and the Swartberg Pass including the Kango Caves. It was wonderful. That Chapman’s Peak Drive is something else!! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to harangue all your small-daughter-having friends into getting their little girls motorbikes and encouraging them give it a red hot go!
