Yes, I'm with you.  Although I've ridden a hire bike in Greece with no helmet in the past I couldn't imagine doing that now.

I did a few times before June 73 (when the law changed) but only very local and usually just to dry my hair!

The only exception to that was when I bought my first vehicle in June 1971......a Lambretta TV175.

I didn't have the money to get a helmet for a week or two.......so I had to learn to ride with no helmet and nobody to show me what controls were what.

The good old days!
