Have a gander at this grossness (content not compatible with vegetarians, vegans or people who think meat grows in vacuum packs in supermarket warehouses).

I was preparing a supermarket shop and the Spanish are not squeamish on the food front, which I like (new things to try) but I’ve finally found something I won’t be buying.
I’d try it if someone else served it up but yer it’s not for me. It’s suckling lambs head (ie it’s such a baby it’s not weaned and is only drinking it’s mothers milk - or it was 😬 You can see the brains hanging out the back.

I then googled recipes for lambs head curious about how you’d cook the different textures at the same time squelchy brain, muscle, rubbery tongue, eyeballs and still get a good result. Mistake. The first recipe that springs up is this pic-

Followed by this cooked version replete with burst eyeball. Yum yum.

It’s cheap though £2.46 so as Petes going to be paying through the nose to keep his daughter in law in a style she does not wish to become accustomed to I thought it would make an excellent welcome dish for her arrival?
Just a thought 😂

Superb castle Dave, have they still got the donkey turning the millstone in one of buildings?

 I expect it’s been banned now 😬

Actually, although having had roasted baby lamb lots of times, when they're that small and haven't had proper pasture there is no flavor to the meat, it's also got very little texture so not my kind of thing. It's considered a delicacy all over Spain and northern Portugal, though, but the meat does improve a lot after some growth in my opinion. I prefer to eat nice meat that had a chance to live instead of factory farmed.

The brains and head (except fish) aren't really a Portuguese thing, though, I've got nothing against eating brain but never have.

The local beach was a scene of devastation after the recent rain and storms. Had a nice hour or two sitting watching the fishermen catching fuck all! 😂😂😂

The electric bikes make things a lot easier I suppose Bob?

How long does the charge last?

Yes, they do make life a bit easier, Pete, but they are pedal assist, so you still have to pedal and the assistance cuts out above 25kph.

There's 4 modes on these ones, which give varying degrees of assistance.  The higher the assistance the shorter the range. On Eco mode I could probably get around 100km, but on Turbo mode I'd probably not see 25km.

I tend to use Eco or the next mode (tour) most of the time, with a bit of EMBK ( e mountain bike) mode for short bursts on tricky bits. I've never used the Turbo mode.

I tested a properly nice one a year or two ago, a real big wheels and suspension mountain bike, wearing jeans and going 25kmh on a slight uphilll, if you've never ridden a normal non assisted bicycle it'll fool you into thinking that's a normal pace. It's like you're spiderman waking up the next morning after being bit by the spider :classic_laugh:

Ours have 29" wheels, but only front suspension. It's classed as a hybrid, but the chunky tyres are meant more for offroad, although it is ok on road.

I was amazed at the difference compared to a standard bike. Hills are no longer avoided, in fact I actually pick routes with a few hills now! 😂😂

Funny enough, when I used to ride a bicycle I would love downhills, on the motorcycle I prefer corners uphill too  ...
