Miss America arrived yesterday and after sorting the swap and quick cup of tea Sarge headed off on the T700 for his homeland (Wales) for the night...........

I had a couple of hours getting au fait with my new (to me) Donkey. First thing to come off was the O/E seat which I replaced with my 15 year old corbin.........

IMG_1469.thumb.JPEG.7b5cf7ad86890643219b40d14137ed30.JPEG

I also fitted my sacrificial side panels as the O/E panels are too tidy to leave on and get rubbed by my luggage. Then I removed the O/E rack and pannier rails and fitted my Scaggs rack and copy pelicase......

and last job before it got too late was to fit the JNS headlight..........

This morning I rode it into work so we could see if the header bolts would free up as I have a new exhaust system to fit, I think we caught them just in time before they became welded to the head........

We replaced them with some Ducati items (temporary fix) as we will fit studs and copper nuts when the new exhaust system goes on ..............

The bike rides really well, it has a strong mid range with the TM40 and the suspension soaks up all the pot holes nicely  👍

I think we could perhaps have a "garage" type of section here, a thread per bike with this sort of stuff seems better than losing it in hundreds of pages of random stuff.

I've got stainless steel bolts like that in the headers on the dog and they've come undone every time (as in when i want them to) never liked the nut and stud option unless they were stainless steel as well ( the dog came with studs from new)

  • 2 weeks later...

Got Miss America up on the ramp this morning as I needed to check a few things after last weeks camping trip.   New front brake pads fitted , the old ones were about half worn but I have a trip to France in 3 weeks time so might as well fit new now.......

IMG_1806.thumb.JPEG.8e25f43594d168a32922c4f6f3e2f56e.JPEG

Put the o/e wheels back in and then decided to check out the exhaust bolts as I have a new Delkevic system I could fit.  The FMF silencer currently fitted is a little bit loud, all the fitting came loose except fro the usual fecker on the clamp...........

IMG_1808.thumb.JPEG.ea2aa4f7cb10b6f46139b02bf6514aef.JPEG

I gave a it a good soaking with WD-40 and used a lot of heat but it's not coming off yet, I may take the dremmel to it later with a small cutting disc (if I've got one) .

Tomorrow I'll try to fit the new Delkevic system
