Former Railway Station in Seron!

Recommended Posts

I went down to Seron in Almeria today.......first proper run I've had on this bike.

Were there problems with it? Read through to the end and I'll tell you.

A bit of background: This station existed in the Spanish municipality of Serón, in the province of Almería, belonging to the now defunct Almanzora railway.

Historically, the station had a certain importance due to the existence of a reserve of locomotives and its functions as an ore loading point.

Its facilities were operational from 1894 up to 1984, when the line was permanently closed. In recent years it's been restored with much of the original railway infrastructure still maintained, while the main building itself is now a restaurant, along with additional buildings for childrens' activities.

As regards the bike.....it didn't miss a beat!

No oil leaks and no ABS warning light!

Seems to be sorted as far as I can tell......fucking gutted aren't you now?

There's still time :classic_laugh:.

I guess you're not allowed to ride the track now, cycle maybe?

It's a Via Verde Dave......green way.

Cycling is allowed on there and you can ride through all the former stations on the line.

Nice place, I think you posted another ride there a long time ago now?

It's such a waste when buildings with so much character just go unused and decay, even if it's for restaurants it's good they have life in them.

It's a shame you didn't get the Vario topbox with the bike. It's very cool because it folds smaller like the sidecases do, so it doesn't look as monstrous as that thing you carry around :classic_laugh:

I don't think I've ever bought any luggage.....always had them with the bike!
