Ok that is interesting, I am part of a Jack Russell forum and that what was I thinking of with the comment in terms of appropriate place.  He is a Jack Russell cross Border Terrier, but luckily for me he has a border terrier temperament, much calmer and less serial killer than a Jack Russell.  I have had 4 JRT's over the years before him and he is the best behaved by quite a margin.

Do they discriminate against you because he isn’t pure JR? So they exclude you by doing events for dogs with racial purity and stuff like that and making jokes about halfcast hounds?

Jack Russells were considered mongrels until 2016 so they don't get to be snooty.

A Parsons Russell is the only true pure 'Jack Russell'.

I'm running for cover.

Went out walking with the Dear Boy today, 11k round trip up river to the Village of Golant.  Where my Mrs came from.  We walked up the old coach road but I can't imagine anything that size getting through now.   Golant is a beautiful little village with a tidal Pill created by the railway line going through.    If you were to follow the railway line it would take you to Lostwithiel one way and Fowey the other.

The last pictures are of my dream house.  The Old Sawmills at Bodmin Pill about a 1k down river from Golant.  My Dad worked there for the best part of ten years when I was young.  I spent many hours there as a boy during school holidays.      Idyllic part of my childhood that I remember very well.

Little bit of an obstacle on the path up from Bodmin Pill.

First of all, cracking photos , looks like a great walk 👍

Is this what you're referring to as 'the Old Coach road '  ?

Is this it on the map, if so I'd love to ride up there 👍

It is, if you follow the Saints way towards Golant then turn left at Penventinue to Lanherriot Farm, not on the map, and the old coach road is just  on the left, you can't miss it there is nothing else there.  It is possible by bike but a bit challenging, I did it on a DT175 many years ago.

I'd also be looking for a way to get into that railway tunnel if it is abandoned

Nice jaunt out on the cycle today. Average speed is pretty low because we stopped off a couple of times and then one of the guys got a puncture. Anyway, the route, the gang (apart from Pascale, who took the photo) and a couple of pics from the ruins of a Roman house we looked at.

Had a walk around Luxulyan Valley this morning with the Dear Boy.  Only 6K but stunning up there.  No people either the way I like it.    We had a look at the remains of the old winding engine and at Treffrey Viaduct.

Strolled for a couple of miles in the sunshine, so many different brilliant blues accompanied by a soundtrack of waves crashing on shingle. Good for the soul. Especially when it’s followed by bacon 🥓 😂

Some abandoned something or other that Mr Slowly tried to persuade me was an old cinema, even he couldn’t quite land that one 😂

This is not so lovely, you didn't happen to see a Welsh/Ginger/Dago bloke in their looking for dead dogs by chance :classic_unsure:

hut.jpeg.275dbc5a6d1f9420107ae16faba4ccc4.jpeg

It’s all lovely where the old part is and where it’s been developed by the seafront but if you walk far enough it comes to an abrupt halt at the end of the shingle.

There’s a lot more development going ahead, I could see Salobreña changing from a sweet seaside place used predominantly by the Spanish into something more sprawling and touristy. I’d put money on that abandoned bit being developed in the next couple of years.

Then again Motril is next door and they already do all of that stuff so hopefully not!
