Oh he’s got rolls and rolls of the stuff, same with the kitchen rolls, as I found out when I put the shopping away for him.

I could’ve screamed but held it in and cleaned his kitchen bin out after he used it without a bin bag……….I’m not squeamish but I had a little retch to myself.

beware of this , mainly in villages....  Priorité a droite

if you see this sign  image.png.76e3563fe0ae0415eb3df8b8184eafcd.png you are on a "route prioritaire" and there will be no "priority to the right" junctions untill you pass this sign image.png.88e2d38967208775587bca302bf452c9.png marking the end of the "route prioritaire" . They are often on top of the town or village limit signs.

The Priority to the right is actually quite simple. it is the default setting. In the absence of other instructions ( road markings or signposts) then "priorité a droite"

Very good point, one of the most confusing traffic laws in France.  One very irate old French bloke gave me an earful in a small village near Limoges, I don't know exactly what he said but I don't think it was very flattering .

outside of a town or village, a "priorité a droite" is usually marked by this sign image.png.78c32c576a701183bc19ace9b0834fff.png

Yer cheers. I’m aware of the different priorities depending on the road etc. Probably won’t mention priorities, traffics lights and speed limits until we’re on the ferry cos some people like to worry.

If in doubt, give way to the right

It's pretty rare outside of villages and towns these days, but there's always exceptions! 😉😂😂

it was dying out but is now coming back in force in rural areas as the state decentralised the roads, it's up to the local mairies  to pay for their local road maintenance and the signs and normalized reflective paint are f,kin expensive so the cheap and easy option is just to make everything "priority a droite"

Had enough of planning this trip now.

Took forever to find the right accommodation, ended up redoing the route planning to land up in the right place via a decent route and now even though booking.com said my booking was confirmed they’ve emailed to say they can’t confirm my booking and are issuing a refund which may take 7-10 days.  FFS I hadn’t paid for it yet anyway so I dunno what they’re on about or if I have any accommodation, it’s still showing as booking confirmed.

I really don’t want to start AGAIN

Be careful with the refund email from booking.com, it may be a scam.  I've had that one before :classic_huh:

Yer the address is correct and they’re not asking me for any response so I’m sure it’s genuine.

I’ve contacted them to confirm the booking (“can take 48hrs to respond”), pee’d off cos can’t finish the route until I know where we land up and it effects whether someone can join us that evening and what we do the next day.

I partially take the blame cos Covid had lulled me into forgetting how far in advance properties usually get booked up “74% of properties in your area are unavailable” plus a lot won’t allow a one night booking yet during Covid they couldn’t bite your hand off fast enough! Time to adjust the mindset.

Must really be a typo though, no oil manufacturer states modern oil life after opening at 6 months, it's always one year until it goes off and that's why it's a 1 year between oil changes.

Head bearing at 11.000 miles is what seems out of the normal for me.

On a CB500X there are 8000 mile service intervals, and the valve check is only done every 16000. No idea on cost from the main dealer though.

I bought the bike with 15.5K kms......now up to 17.6K kms nearly 8 months later.

I'm going to get Juan Cortes to do an oil and filter change at 19K and 22K, then they can do the big one with valves at 25.6K.

Had a very weird dream last night, and I remember most dreams like that very vividly. Am quite overcome with sadness and sorrow today, vacuumed the house, did a few things that help me feel like I'm decluttering like taking the recycling out and spreading the coffee leftovers and ash from the fireplace around the garden. It's a very grey day today, going to go buy some jeans in a bit but today life is hard.

Sorry to hear you’re having a bad day Pedro, keep yourself busy and time will pass more quickly. It’s better to focus on the mundane stuff than the things that make you feel sad.

Keep your chin up and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Hope your day picks up.
Sometimes it takes a lot longer to shake the feelings dreams leave us with than we’d like, I believe this is where a prescription of stiff spirits and crap TV is useful.
