Don't worry Pedro the UK is not the worse place for bike theft he's just hating on the UK again but you would be foolish not to take some precautions there's twats in every country

To be honest Iā€™m a bit anxious about this UK trip, itā€™s all horror stories on youtube. However, weā€™ll try to sleep in ok areas and search for places with parking. Also the point is to go through scenic places instead of lingering on slums. My bike has an alarm, plus one tries not to live in fear. Porto once had an armed carjacking crisis and that didnā€™t stop me driving around, just keep a little space to the car in front on stoplightsĀ :classic_laugh:

You'll be fine mate, central city's are the main places you'd find most of that kind of trouble, keep out if them and you'll be riding your bike back as opposed to flying back alone.Ā

Ā

P.s keep away from Kent especially around six's Manor he has a van and he's not afraid to use itĀ

Yep like Spain which has a higher bike theft rate than the UK.

Its another reason why UK insurance is cheaper.

In fact almost all European countries have higher vehicle theft rates than the UK due to ease of moving them across borders.

Mind you I do choose my accommodation based on the parking. Like going to Brighton Iā€™m staying 20 mins outside at a rural pub because itā€™s not the sort of Ā place scrotes can be bothered to travel to.Ā

Iā€™m careful where I park in large towns, cities and ports. I always select accommodation with parking on booking.com and then view the the place and the parking on google maps street view to look at the area.Ā

Iā€™m yet to find somewhere in Glasgow Iā€™d be happy to leave my bike šŸ˜†

Pratā€™s from Swansea, he should have known better.

He should have left it with a dealer for an oil and filter change, then picked it up when he was leaving.

Donā€™t worry @PedroĀ , like everyone else has said youā€™ll be fine as long as youā€™re not in city centres and if you do stay in a city centre just somewhere thereā€™s underground parking šŸ‘

Only time I dropped a bike not offroad was riding a hotel in Casablanca. I carried the bloody thing for the entire trip but parking it in front of the hotel for one of the last nights I decided to put it to use. In the morning I forgot about it and as I was riding off there was a thunk! And down I went. I remember being very confused while going down and thinking ā€œI didnā€™t notice a sidewalkā€Ā :classic_laugh:

Since then I donā€™t bother with it, I do bother with safe places to park though.

No, I bought one without the cord because I thought I wouldn't forget.

It's maybe 20 years old, used twice. I forgot one of the times, so it's 50% fail.
