XTreme Posted September 21, 2023 Author Share Posted September 21, 2023 Something good did come out of seeing the Beemer! Me and the wife were looking at it and I pointed out the Quadlock bracket. She didn't know what it was so I explained how it worked......she thought at first they were just for Beemers. When I told her they fit on all bikes she said "Why haven't you got one?". I said that despite the old bracket being ugly and awkward to use I wanted to get some use of it. So she said that was just stupid considering how good the Quadlock is and I should order one! Got a lift up to Alicante by a good mate that owed me a favour and then spent a few hours making my way back home across country. Some great roads and scenery but I was having far too much fun to stop and take photos. Whilst at the dealers I had a browse around their showroom and saw a VERY nice KTM 990 SMT…….. not particularly cheap and the photos don’t do it justice but in the flesh it’s drop dead gorgeous (a bit like me apparently ). Expand Mr Slowly has quadlock on one bike and ‘Peak Design’ (very highly rated quadlock type thing) on another and they're both good. The adapters that stick to your phone don’t feel that secure, they cannot be put on silicone cases. Mr Slowly used the quadlock adapter on his case for one trip and bought the dedicated case. I have an old iphone 6S that I use for nav in a Tusita case, it fits my Quadlock mount perfectly.
