I fitted my new front wheel bearings, definite improvement, the vagueness has gone away. Interestingly the Harley bearings had metal seals, they were definitely stiff when I removed them and the left one more so than the right, it gave a good old click just once then seemed smooth so I suspect one of the balls is cracked but without a load you cannot tell. The Koyo’s were noticeably smoother and faster rolling, the old ones came out and new ones went in very easily, thirty minute job all in. I even cleaned the wheel to keep ugly Bob happy.

Complete rubish. You never know if they’re locked in or not.

I once went in to Harley in Porto to look at a 95 bike they were selling, spent 20 years in a garage after the previous owner had passed. Outside the dealership is a downhill street, as they started it and it was doing it’s vibing thing at tick over I mentioned to the salesman that it was inching off the sidestand. As the twat was sanctimoniously explaining to me how Harleys don’t roll off the sidestand like other bikes do, that one was precisely doing it right behind him. I took great pleasure in that!

I might get on the bike late next week and do a couple of days riding around. Sadly summer seems to be properly arriving and I don’t feel like braving the heat just to end up at home.

On account of this, I’ve looked into Morocco as well, a d acouple of places I am used to ride through, now that’s warm:

The old Dacia passed its MOT today 😲

Several advisories though....worn discs, worn anti roll bar bushes, corroded (but not leaking)  exhaust, and worn Mc Pherson strut top mountings, the discs and exhaust are the ones originally fitted, so they have lasted well, i will get the others done when/if funds are available.

Scoots MOT in 3 weeks, no problem with (famous last words lol) it passing, it has only covered 200 mile since last MOT.  😂

My bike hasn't moved properly in weeks. But just booked a room at a friend's place for tomorrow, and am leaving mid morning on a day full of small roads to get there, then heading south for another day full of more or less twisty roads and views ending at my place or at another room somewhere. It's supposed to be getting properly warm but I urgently need to get out and spend a day or two on the bike.

Nice! Going to be 40C in Utah as I depart  for there Thursday - and I thought that was hot.  Only 72F / 22C here today - should be out riding in it.

Take pics for us!

It’s mostly going to be places from which I’ve posted a lot before already, though. I’m really looking forward to not stopping for a few hours.

Started the day with a 5k walk as the sun came up.

Then had to take my fuck nut of a son to Bodmin scooter centre to get a new back tyre.

I liked the guys who work there.   I would go there to have work done,  reasonable price and seemed pretty knowledgeable.
Daft boy is now talking about getting a bike as apparently riding a ped is embarrassing 🤣
Obviously his mates are taking the piss.
I did tell him at the time but what the fuck do I know.    🤣

Not a bad start to the day.    Off to give my middle daughter her first driving lesson today.   If I’m not back you know the reason 😳

I really like that bike Bob. Out of interest if you didn't have any connections with Ducati would you have bought that bike. Its because its a Ducati I've never given it a second glance but do like it.

I survived lesson one.    Got her pulling away and changing into second gear.   Some steering, clutch and brake control.   Lots to learn but kept her laughing rather the stressed and anxious.

Nothing like a deserted WW2 airfield for plenty of space to learn.  Google Davidstow Airfield if you are interested.  Hopefully I will get her sound on basic car control before she starts formal lessons.  Good to be in her company for a couple of hours.

I always liked them from the day I first saw them , they remind me of an XT500 on steroids.  The fact that I work in a Ducati specialist is a big plus as I don't have to worry about servicing etc, but it does have one of the best Ducati engines ever in it .
