This morning I'm trying to make a bit of toast while the plumber hacks the floor up for new pipes , the builders are banging away and now the kitchen lady is here trying to finalise what Ersilia wants. I have MiL here at the moment. She was due to fly home on 2nd Jan but couldn’t as we had to call the ambulance at 2 am on the 1st as she was haemorrhaging blood from umpteen gastric ulcers caused by the meds she was taking. Her dementia has got three times worse, she’s partly incontinent and a full time job for 2 of us to look after. The hospital won’t certify her as fit to fly until the end of the month.
