Funnily enough I never had to adjust the chain on my CB500F in the 5K miles I did on it.  A cruel person would say that the motor never made enough power to stretch the chain, but we know that's not true. 🤣  Just a decent chain that if looked after will last.  My Hornet chain hasn't need adjusting yet after 1400 miles.

By comparison the POS chain on the 650GS I had needed adjusting every thousand kms.

The OEM chain on those is really flimsy like a bicycle chain.

Brother in law has the same, can't piss, or has to go several times per night, they have tested his PSA (high) and taken biopsies,  he is on drugs, they test him quite regularly though, his doc says he is fine at the moment, they also do not want to operate because it could leave him incontinent.

I'm not a doctor,  but I had the same thing and my doctors and specialists in the UK were quite happy for me to keep getting up to pee several times a night and keep taking a mixture of drugs, which helped, but not completely.  On seeing my first doctor here, he immediately referred me to a Urologist. The urologist sent me for an MRI and a couple of ultrasound scans and monitored my PSA over a year or so, then suggested that I should have the laser surgery to remove some of the prostate material. His warning was that trying to pee past the restriction caused by the enlarged prostate was likely to cause damage to the bladder muscles, which was likely to result in urinary incontinence eventually. So, leaving the swollen prostate was more likely to result in incontinence than removing some of the excess prostate material. But, operations cost money...............!

So what's the longterm outlook if it's not malignant...medication for the rest of your life  ?

Depends on the healthcare service there. If it's non malignant, then it could be that he has Green Light Laser surgery, to remove some of the excess prostate material. There are other treatments too, so he may be offered them instead. My urologist here was dead against just leaving it and trying to treat it with drugs, as he said that it could eventually damage the bladder muscles. It could also lead to kidney damage and other infections. My surgery was one year ago now and I wish that I'd had the opportunity to have it done sooner!

Well you know the NHS, anything to save money.

He is monitored quite closely,  but he is almost 74 now.... maybe the NHS think it would be a waste of resources at his time of life, but there again his mother (in a nursing home) is 101 😲

I’ve been down to Weston hospital today as my mother was rushed in yesterday.

Anyway she was much better today although she’ll be on beta blockers for the rest of her life now, she’s not doing bad for 85 years old .

I went on the donkey as hospitals are a fevking nause to park a car .

It may not be just down to resources, there are lots of health reasons to consider when you get to 74.  The clinicians I work with never mention the cost of what they do, not a consideration for them, they just do what's best for the patient.  That's probably why the politicians don't let medics run the NHS.  Not saying others don't and I have no experience of budgets and stuff.

I was just jesting about the NHS  saving money, the care he has had, and is still receiving is1st class, regular testing and regular chats with his treatment team, and he is happy that they are doing all that they can for him.

I think most would say that. The shop floor doing the best they can with the trickle of cash available.

I have no complaints with the NHS, they had me in for a MRI when I 1st went nigh on totally deaf very quickly, and supplied me with 2 hearing aids (which are now of little use).

MRI every year to keep a eye on my tumour, and regular hearing (😂) tests, and consultations (my wife relays my answers) with the Queens Medical centre in Nottingham, they have not so far forgotten to get in touch with me, and they are always on time.

The wife said she is a bit cheesed off because it's a sit down gig probably because most of the audience is older than the band members :classic_laugh:
