Got a call from the chap with the Aprillia this afternoon. He went to Halfords for a new battery and didn't notice the Pos and Neg terminals were the other way round. He fitted before he noticed and now with the right battery it's popping a fuse.
He's a lucky boy as I've been outside playing and it turned out to be just a relay. On the same line was the dash panel and I went straight for that being electronic. Lucky boy indeed although I've still got to put it back together and road test.

The boys are going to a dyno event Saturday...couple hours from here...who know I might even get it on the dyno just for fun...if I can clean out my air filter by Saturday...notice she's was getting thrusty during the trip...Dan's bike was always taking a few bucks short on every tank...was suppose to clean it at every 15 k...it's up to 25 k and with the amount of bugs it must have injested last Sunday...the thing must be plugged solid with bug crap...

Wouldn’t have been the original band . Think most of the Village People died of Aids … must of been a tribute act

Just got back from Damerells bike night with Shadow.
Some interesting bikes there but also some patched up twats talking smack about each other.   All very tedious.
I did like this GSXF600 haven’t seen one of them for years.
on the other end of the scale a brand new Daytona 660.
Nice Blade

Managed to remove the snapped item from the coolant hose so at least I’ve got something to take to the Yamaha dealers next week to see if they’re able to source a new one. The rest of it is still inside the hole in the cyclinder head so getting that out could be a bit tricky.

Thinking of trying one of those easy-out bits that are supposed to enable the removal of such things. The other option is to remove the cylinder head and get the offending item taken out by a professional engineering company. Could be pricey but if I remove the head myself then most of the labour is free. 😜

While I was at it I flushed out all the remaining coolant……..what a mess that was. Christ knows what the previous owner(s) used but it surely wasn’t coolant! Finally removed all the crap so at least that’s a positive.

It's corroded like real bad...and extractor might work if you got enough room to get in there...but you'll need some good quality extractor...

That is prob pressed/knocked in so an easy out will expand what's left of it. Think I'd have the engine out a drill out the remains while keeping air pressure in the water jacket hopefully keeping the swarf from entering. Be easier to glue knock the new one, be it home made or original, in with the engine out too.

Oh yea, Aprilia collected yesterday, he's a happy bunny. Speedo not working, found the wires to the sensor cooked onto the exhaust and no side stand light, bad switch. These Italians know how to charge for parts don't they.:classic_laugh:

It's back at the end of the month for a fork seal and front discs.

T5 van/camper

Oooh, a T5, will you then tour Portugal and clog all the mountain roads when stopping to look for the best Instagram #vanlife scenic location? It's the thing to do, apparently.
