Can someone explain to me how (car) insurance costs work?.....cos it has got me fucking gobsmacked.... 😂

Went on Gocompare and got car insurance at nearly half the price that Hastings quoted me, and the insurance is with the A.A, I always thought they were expensive, seems not. 👍

Not to bad, breakfast sorted it out, French toast, bacon, maple syrup and haggis, breakfast of champions.

Haggis are hibernating this time of year.... so obviously not fresh Haggis.

I end up changing insurer every year as the one you are with always goes up. It’s ridiculous, they seem to have no interest at all in retaining the customers they already have.

I expected a rise in the price, but to receive a quote that was bordering on double what i paid last year is taking the piss.

That looks epic.

Hope so.  It;s gonna cost a fair amount to do this trip, hope it's worth the effort and cost.

So far, just myself and riding mate Odd Todd are going. But if anyone else wants to tag along, they are most welcomed to do so.

Not true, the western Isle ice haggis have just started their mating season.

Looked after one of the granddaughters Friday for a couple of hours and I've now got her cold. As usual it's bunged me head up.
Did get the rover mostly back together today but gave up as I was bloody freezing and the cam timing wasn't doing what the book said.
Might go back tomorrow.

…and here. Although to be fair I’m up a mountain in Switzerland.

Ditto. Got about 8 inches of new snow today - to put on top of the old snow.

What elevation are you at in Switzerland?

The village is at about 1000m, the top of the ski area is a glacier at about 3000m.

It’s sunny today and just above freezing.

Nice morning here, it feels a little milder too, we have the 11 year (granddaughter) whirlwind today, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, too old for this childminding shit.

I am finding the Birmingham solution to the scoot more appealing as the days pass. 😂

Ive just come back from our European friends at the car wash.  The salt had got to Donkey after the trip to North Wales last week even though I'd slathered it in WD-40 .  She's going up the bench now for a bit of luv .........

Found a new Bike Shop less than 15 minutes from my place.   I sort of knew about the guy but for some reason I didn’t think he was up to much, probably cause someone slagged him to me.    Anyway went up there to get Shadow’s new back tyre fitted, nice to be proved wrong top guy, friendly, helpful and with reasonable prices.

Also finally got around to sorting the boys ped.   It needed new front pads but being made of Chineseium one of the pad pins stripped and the old ones wouldn’t come out.   When this happened I had a sense of humour failure and just got another calliper from eBay.
All bled and fitted so he has new brake fluid as well now.   I know if he ever  buys one of these things again I will strip the callipers and anti seize them before use.    To be fair the ped has been flawlessly reliable in the 2.5 years he has had it.    Probably crumble to dust for it’s first MoT in August   🙁

Could do with a bike shop like that around here,  seriously lacking in this area.
