boboneleg
Sorry, sat in the car and I had to drive up to the garage to get a coffee coz it’s feckin freezing This is the box of shame that lives in my garage. It is home to any parts that have failed, have been destroyed (by me) or are just plain knackered . Today I added this to the box, it’s the cheap shit ignition that the previous owner mounted on my DR650. It has literally rattled apart so it deserves its place in the box. 3

boboneleg
This is next. This is the front sprocket from my KTM 950 after I got back from a trip to the Pyrenees. It’s a 17 tooth sprocket but by time I replaced it there were only 9 left. God knows how it made it back 2

Sir Fallsalot
I hope you not like a mate of mine, he bent a valve on his Guzzi and carried it around in his pocket, when we went to bike rally's or party's he couldn't wait to get it out and bore someone to death about it 8

Sir Fallsalot
Well i got one. When i fitted my new boiler a few years ago i only had the old copper pipe for the pressure relief valve going through the wall so i used it for the condense drain from the new boiler with all intensions to change it at a later date. When i came home from work last night i spotted a stain on the ceiling below the cupboard the boiler is in. When i went upstairs to have a look the floor in the boiler cupboard was soaking the pipe had frozen and the condense was now dripping all over it, so i spent last night putting trace heating on the pipe as once it leaves the house it runs about 3m across my kitchen extension roof to the gutter. Got home tonight all the ice has gone but water is still dripping in the bucket below the boiler i found there was a split in the pipe but couldn't understand how it froze inside the house and split. I cut it out and replaced the split bit of pipe and after reconnecting discovered its still leaking, on closer inspection the pipe hadn't split due to being frozen the condense is acidic and had eaten the pipe away along its length so i taped it up with some self amalgamating tape until i can drill the wall of the house to put the right pipe in this is the bit i cut out

Years ago we were on our way to the Dragon Rally when I had a whoopsee ........... After I had picked myself up and Fred realised I was missing he returned and helped get the bike out of the fence. I sat down feeling sorry for myself while Fred assessed the damage, the only problem was the gear lever which was pointing at a funny angle, Fred sorted it out for me while I hobbled around and we continued on. The gearchange still didn't quite feel right and when I got home after the weekend I saw that the gear lever shaft was bent on the tip. I managed to find a replacement part on eBay and fitted it later on but it was a bit of a twat as you had to take the clutch out and then pull the shaft out from the other side of the case but it didn't want to come out easily because of the bent tip. Anyway, I did it eventually and all was good again.
