Earache
Always wanted to get inside of this historic building that has been left empty for the past 20 years. A friend of mine owns a small casino in town and just bought a vacant casino across the street. The new place consists of 3 buildings that have been joined on the inside. Three buildings circled ...

Earache
One of the old buildings was a hotel - here's a hallway to the rooms and an exterior brick wall - which is now and interior wall...

Slowlycatchymonkey
To a Brit the middle of a hight street seems a weird place for a casino. In the UK Casino's are down side roads n back streets, sort of place you'd find nightclubs and other nefarious activities that mostly happen at night. I'm guessing they're not viewed as places for ne'er-do-well's in the USA?
Catteeclan
Brilliant, loads of character in there. Hope some is kept and keep the updates coming.

Casino only at this point - not really big enough to put a hotel of any size in there,

We don't really have any "side roads or back streets" as our entire town is in a very narrow valley between large mountains - so we have basically one street running through town.

Gonna be awhile for updates as they're just now cleaning it out. Really dirty in the place now. But it'll make a nice, smaller casino some day.

All gambling is considered seedy over here. You can bet on the grand national or the cheltenham gold cup once a year and that's considered acceptable other than that it's up there with all the other vices you're supposed to be ashamed of We have unusual laws regarding gambling, the proposed super casinos caused uproar, the gambling law was amended and eventually the plans were scrapped. I've been in a very posh casino once in Kitzbuhel. It did not go well, we all lost (surprise) and my friend Jo slept with the twat ski instructor who took us there, then when we returned she discovered she was pregnant so they got married without knowing each other one jot. Needless to say it was a disaster and Jo n baby had to be rescued from Amsterdam and ended living with me for a year bit of a loose canon that one, well she was, she's currently in a vegetative state! 1

Although I have had a bet once when I went to watch the Gold Cup, except we were in the Panoramic which is so posh they put the racing cards on your table and the waiting staff place the bets for you at the restaurant bar so I still dont know how it works! I won £20 on "Another Rum"

Same here - I have no idea what's going on. I do go to the sports book place to watch games and races though. Big assed TV's and free beer*. * Alcohol is free in Colorado casinos. Only supposed to get 3 drinks per hour but a well placed tip will eliminate that rule. Or you can just go to a different bar in the casino as they have 7-8 bars in them.

They would be more than happy to teach you! I was in Las Vegas years ago, mid week, it was pretty slow. One of the guys running a Craps table promised he'd show me how to play and I'd win as much as I wanted. Somehow I didn't find his pitch genuine and passed on that opportunity... I still have no clue how to play Craps but I did make twenty times my money on a slot machine. Yep, pulled the lever, hit the jackpot, gathered my winnings and walked out. Easiest $5 I ever made. 1
