Try to phonetically pronounce these words or places

I'll start with "Laugharne" a place near me in Wales

I'll stay out of this one!

Though there are some odd English ones like Bicester!

I got a speeding ticket going through there in 1996 and it got dropped.

Makes a change for a Welsh place to have a few Vowels in it .

I always said Larn because I thought that's what I heard others saying, to be fair they were Brummies living nearby.

Bister, went there once for work purposes.

Like Worcester (Wooster).

How about the name Beauchamp (Beecham)

Not Welsh, but here's a local one that messes up the tourists; Saguache . As in Saguache County, Saguache Mountains, etc.

Pronounced locally as "sa - watch".  Like most weird names in western USA, it's an Indian name (Ute tribe). Meaning "Blue Earth"

Just did an image search on that - it is pretty cool looking. Need to get a trip over to go look at some of the sites you guys talk about.

An old lady in a tapered black top hat made my son jump when she suddenly popped out of the cottage near the castle. She was the worst Windy Miller impersonator I have ever seen.

Theres a place up the road from here called Congresbury and the ‘re’ part of it isn’t pronounced, it’s just Congsbury, you immediately know if someone’s not from round here if they pronounce it correctly.

Sounds like proper banjo country

One of the places i stayed in England years ago is called Leominster the locals had to put me right when i said it as it reads apparently it's pronounced lem·stuh.

When I was a Medical Rep for Beechams in the early 80's I used to call on the chemists in the town every 8 weeks.

I know it pretty well actually......always seemed a really nice place to me.
