Saul
Rode the 42 miles up to Bude bike night with some mates tonight. Bob with his 1979 Norton Commando, Andy with his Triumph Scrambler and Martin with his Guzzi V85T. About a 100 bikes or so there and about 10 trikes of differing types. A lot of Triumphs.

Funnily enough I nearly bought one before my CB500, I sat on one at the dealers, and much as I liked it I thought it was a bit to big and unwieldy for everyday bimbling about. Lovely bike though and I would still like one but not for everyday use.

They wern't light (back in the day) when you got one stuck in a rut and then you had to try and kick-start it when it was hot ............. Don't ask me how I know this ...........

Maybe so but it wasn't the only reason I didn't buy it, fuel economy and running costs tyres and such were important factors in the decision as my bikes primary purpose is commuting as well as local bimbles. I won't test ride something unless I am serious about buying it but I never got close to that. I know I am boring but that's the way my head works
Saul
Talking to my mate about the ride yesterday, he was grinning like a Cheshire cat went I was going on about how good his Commando sounded riding through Camalfords narrow streets. You think he would be used to it now he has had the bloody thing 39 years and covered 51,000 miles with it. I was also taking the piss up there as I reckon he develops Norton Vibration finger struggling to get sugar in his tea. Lovely bike though.
