So back to the fettling while @XTreme decides whether he's actually going to get a CRF or not .

The shock was taken to James Packwwod racing to sort out the non-working rebound adjuster.  I then fitted new sprockets front and rear as the bike still had the originals on there, the front was well hooked ..........

But the rear wasn't too bad so I'll keep that one as a spare ................

Heat up the rear sprocket bolts BEFORE trying to undo them ..........

IMG_4813.thumb.JPEG.7695284467eb69ab9165519104c9ae1d.JPEG

and then fit them using blue loctite ............

IMG_4817.thumb.JPEG.143a3254de4dd8a524268c02b02b1fb3.JPEG

and it's done..................

IMG_4825.thumb.jpeg.c4499d186c187750748f4d309d45b248.jpeg

I then used the original shock to put the bike back on two wheels, re-fitted all the bodywork, gave it all a polish and she's done.  Just got to wait for the shock to be repaired and then I can re-fit that 👍

You’ve totally confused @XTreme with all that techno talk mate 😝😝😝😝

11,629 miles, pretty good considering the way this bike gets used.  You'd get 25,000 out of them if you were on road only.

Very good chain on the CB......no adjustment needed in 3000kms. Guys have had over 50k kms out of them.

By comparison the 650GS chain was really crappy......more like a bicycle chain.

I can second that I have over 2000 miles in my hands on my CB500 and the chain has not needed to be touched apart from lube.

You've now done the same amount of miles as I have in only a few months.

I truly am The King of the Casuals!

But compared to @Six30 I'm Nick Sanders of course!

It’s not only the chain Pete, you have a twin now, much smoother power delivery.

Big singles are hard on chains, I’d probably not get more than 8000 miles out of a chain on the donkey.

I freshened up my Rally yesterday with a new seat as the original has sagged after six years of use. I went for a black seat from a 250M, I much prefer it to the red item, the strap was removed straight away :littleguy:
