The 2020 KTM 500 EXC-F is the brand’s leading dual sport model and a highly capable one at that. Proof? It’s hard to deny its credentials, including being named Cycle World’s Best Enduro/Dual Sport five times in the past 10 years. It’s powered by a liquid-cooled, SOHC, 511cc four-stroke engine, and comes fitted with premium components like Brembo brake calipers and WP Xplor suspension. Ahead of an upcoming dual sport comparison, we ran the 500 EXC-F on our in-house Dynojet 250i dynamometer to determine horsepower and torque measurements. The big-displacement KTM recorded 39.4 hp at 8,100 rpm and 27.7 pound-feet of torque at 5,200 rpm.
