XTreme
Firstly, I wanted to test out the photo quality of my new phone cos it's got a 100 megapixel camera! I was very impressed with the results as you'll see with the pics in this thread.....the colours are much sharper! And I also wanted to check out what my old phone was like using it as a GPS and see what adjustments I needed to make. I'm glad I didn't go too far at any sort of speed because it came loose......the Quadlock sticky pad just wasn't up to it. So I'll be putting a 3M pad on it instead, as those things never come off. The angle of the phone was pointing up a bit too much so I've lowered the angle of the bracket....so that's sorted as well. The main failure was the brightness of Google Maps on my old phone! Because despite being on the highest brightness it still wasn't bright enough. I'll have to check how I can get round that. Anyway.....here's a few shots! Water level really low now! I was impressed with the colours on these two...... My BOTM shot Bike hadn't been used for 3 weeks......started first touch of the button though. You listening @Marcel? So there you are......you can now knock yourselves out niggling about the bike, the top box, and anything else you don't think meets your discerning standards. But ultimately......I'm the one that's actually riding......and you're not! 5

I'd say the only way around the brightness issue would be to have something around the phone to shroud it from the ambient light. There you go was that a constructive post. Normal practice will resume shortly!
Pedro
Have you got an usb plug on the dash, Pete? It's a good idea to have it plugged on to have the phone's battery not draining from navigation use, also on some phones they will have a brighter screen when on charge, that or carry a small power bank if something happens to charge it off the bike. You're right, having it pointing up like on the pictures will make the sun glare affect it too much, and also once warmer weather comes it'll cook the phone. It's worrisome water levels aren't up after all the rain over the last couple of weeks, or hasn't it reached your area? Bike is looking clean!

No USB plug.......but never noticed any difference in brightness when USB is connected. We had a bit of rain......but not a great deal. It needs a Winter of continual heavy rain to get the levels back up.

I bet your bike has 4 double A batterys to start thing...doesn't need much amps to crank over...basically running the starter with the same power has a vibrator.
