Sir Fallsalot
After seeing the pube grooming and groin photos in this place recently i thought i'd try to drag the place out from the gutter and post a few bike photo's. I met up with some TRF members at Greggs in Porth this morning and tagged along with them on a few local lanes and then split off from them for a gentle plod about on my own. It was damn cold with a strong wind blowing Waved goodbye here after a slice of Christmas cake and I headed up to Merthyr Took my mountain road and then decided since i was in the area to take the dog along the new to me byway and do a bit of lane maintenance. First bit of clearing work Next one was passible but meant slowing to a stop to get under it so that had to go as well Removed this bit caught me out when i rode the Beta through here as i thought it was just some brambles but when i rode into them there was a load of logs in there, looks like a few have been through since my last visit and cleared the brambles a bit, would have been hard work on the dog so had a little tidy up here as well Last bit to clear was on the path coming down on the right, there was just some small branches to clear so easy enough, the turn down here was a bit tight for the dog and i had to try and bounce the front wheel back to get around which wore me out for the climb out of the stream and i was really overheating when i got out despite the cold weather There was no way my hand saw was going to clear this so i done a U turn and found a way around the rest of the byway was clear apart from the usual gates and some ice But no problem for the mighty dog On the way home i found out what Six30 was doing down this way a few months ago doing an insurance job on one of his old bangers i think lol 4

boboneleg
I've never seen a byway as overgrown as that Fred, does it not get used much ? I've seen UCR's that are almost impassable but not usually byways .

This is the one in Merthyr that's not on any map and nobody knew about it but that was until Merthyr council announced plans to close it and posted up its location online, shot themselves in the foot by doing that as now the TRF are involved with it. i used to ride it in my youth unaware that it was a byway. There's about 5 short byways all joined together
