The Falmouth Working Boat, sail powered oyster dredger, Victory went down yesterday.  Pushed to hard during a race filled up and down.   It's alright she is already up again, but it is an uncommon sight.

This is what Victory normally looks like.   Picture on our living room wall that was given to my Mrs on her 21st birthday.   She crewed on working boats (Falmouth Oyster Dredgers)  in her younger years.    In the past they used to dredge all winter and race all summer, there is only one left that actually works now and is owned by my kids God Father.

I didn't know about those, very cool!

Good thing you posted the last picture, the painting makes it look like it's almost J-Class size :classic_laugh:

I’ve never heard of a sail powered dredger

It goes back before engines and such, it was kept as sail only in to preserve the oyster beds in the river Fal basin.

@Pedro Falmouth working boats can be no longer than 28 feet although some are less.  Victory looks bigger in that painting because there are no crew aboard for perspective.  Also she has been modified over the years, that painting is 39 years old, pretty sure she doesn't have a splash deck anymore.
