@Clive has one on oerder

I wish 😂.... I passed my driving test in a Mk 1 Escort, at that time it was a nice car, but nothing outstanding about it.

My driving instructor was a chain smoker, the roof lining on the passenger side was yellow from ingrained nicotine 😂 I got 10 cigs down me on a driving lesson, and was not a smoker at the time. 😂

I did mine in an Escort as well, in fact the school was called Escort school of Motoring

I don't remember what car i passed my test in just that it was the instructors car, probably because when i had my first lesson with him he pissed me off when he asked if i'd ever driven a car before i said i had been driving a Reliant Robin for the last two years, he replied i meant a proper car, cheeky fucker it was harder to drive the Robin than a four wheeled car, i had it on it's side twice haven't managed that with a four wheeled car yet. :classic_laugh:

Another mk1 escort driver here. John ######, can’t remember the instructors name at the mo but nice bloke and I loved the car. Nice navy blue, lots of miles on the clock but only a 1300.

Yes.

Synchromesh was in second third and Fourth

A bit of double declutch from higher gear to First.

It was 55 years ago that I passed my test in a car.

But started driving over 60 years ago.

My 1st ride was a '62 GMC short-step P.U. ....3 on the tree w/ a non-synchro 1st gear...which I roasted one night. Had the only 2-speed manual in town after that...even took it skiing in that condition.:classic_huh:

I passed my drivers test in '78...in a '77 Honda Civic (my Mum's car).... 4-speed manual w/ a 1200cc lump under the hood... same color as this, but w/ a left side drive...
