Mullet Shakedown

Weather turned out to be quite nice this morning, so out to the garage I went w/ manual in hand. Tightened up some loose fasteners around the handlebar mounted computer & pumped the shock up just slightly as well as adjusted the damping....which equated to a big diff in the ride...all on the positive side.👍 So I donned the Bell lid, glove & shades...then headed for the eastside back to Cemetary rd. for some nice views.

Looking west....where I'll end up heading to on another occasion.

1 last view south towards Mt. Harris. Last week I put a coat of black bed-liner on the battery for protection until I hunt down a pair of fenders. I think I'll repaint that again with some Herculiner which is a rubber/urethane based bed-liner....also cover the front section of the mid-drive motor. It'll also help insulate the battery for those cold weather rides.

A qwik tour through the cemetary as there was a few flowers dispensed on grave stones...probably because of Easter weekend. Looking NW towards where I live....

Decided to have a closer look @ the Grand Ronde river that runs through an RV park along the way... en route towards that....

On the way home I rode up north to the end of a new subdivision where there was a field full of dozy cows...1 came over to say Hi...lol

Overall, pretty happy with the improved ride quality...but noticed some shifting issues (jumping between 7th & 8th gears)...but the electronic shifter should sort that out.😎

Excellent Scott.....were you running on the battery all the time?

Sure was....mostly in PA levels 2 & 3. Got home & still had 86% of battery life left. Turned it up to level 5 for that last few blocks....Beast get's right w/ the program!

The 750w motor really puts the power down.💪😎

Nice one Scott, how do you control your braking ?

Front brake is already on the LH from stock....after I sort the electronic shifter, I'll see if I can swap the rear brake over to the left (flipping over the lever & MC)....depends on how room is left on the left side of the handlebar...it's gonna look a lot like my Mongoose...nothing on the RH side, just a place to latch onto w/ the hook.

Nice one, Scott.

Based on the first test ride, what is your estimate for longest range with maximum assistance? Looks like a beast of a bicycle!

Went to their site & inquired.... it's a 750w unit from a company called Star Union. Scored a fender set as well, while I was there.

Need to ride it some more 1st, but I just visited their website & found out it has a 14amp hr. battery....& they're coming out with a bigger one yet. Weather's looking better for the next 3 days, so I'll have to ride some more on PA level 5 & maybe get a better idea on the range.

I had a ride on a cannondale a while ago. The only electric mtb I rode, it’s astonishing how a properly assisted bike rides over any terrain and climbs doing 20 to 25kmh with minimum effort. Assuming they have developed batteries over the last few years you’ll be onto a treat.

Rode west this morning out to Elgin's city dump....last time I was up here the road was still gravel....been paved now & is probably 1 of the nicest it town.

Man, I'm lovin' these early morning rides....

Dump001.thumb.jpg.b83af241c67e2e699179591387fdb0a3.jpg

Blasted smudge on the camera lens!....But the view is hard to beat....

On the way back down this newly paved road, I turned the PA level down to 0 & just coasted down to the flat part of the road.....saw 28 mph on the screen.👍😎

Is it capable of doing more difficult terrain?

Yes....that paved road leads to a gnarly gravel road called Pumpkin Ridge which leads over the top & down to the small of Summerville-(pop. 135)...where I found my truck.

A lot of ruts, rocks etc. 4x4 req'd if not traveling by 2 wheels....got my sights on it after a full recharge.😉
