The rinky dinky tour of Bristol

Recommended Posts

First ride out on the Vespa today,  I stuck to a tour around Bristol as I have no idea how this thing is screwed together.

So what did I find ?  the steering head bearings are loose, the front brake either needs adjusting or new shoes.  Apart from that it rides quite well , the jetting might be slightly out and there were some pops and bangs sometimes but it ticks over nicely .

Anyway , some photos for delectation ....................

Looks nice on an urban background. Perfect grocery getter?

Doesn't that spare tire mess with your knee clearance?

How'd you get on with the gear change. Was a few years back but last time I rode one I struggled to get get it all together smoothly.

Yes, it took about an hour to find the sweet spot for each gear and brought back memories of my Lambretta  45 years ago .
