Practically need a loan to get a Passport now, and let's not start on speed cameras. I am pretty comfortable with my kids having plenty of training before being let loose on the latest unrestricted Sports Bikes. The further point I agree, but there are plenty of fuckwits out there that need controlling for the safety of others. i definitely think its car drivers who should go through more rigorous training not just bikes and hgv's
Pedro
7 hours ago, Saul said: Next step is that she will be able to ride her 125 on the road with L plates from her 17th birthday in October. As I understand it she can take her A1 test to lose the L plates as soon as she is ready, then at 19 she can do her A2 test to ride up to a 47 BHP bike. Either as standard or restricted. Then at 21 she can do her full unlimited license. Not easy to get a full license here. Here you can ride a restricted A2 at 18, and then at 20 it automatically goes to A1. I never noticed that my driver's license only stated the A2, so until 2 years ago when I last went to Morocco I rode with a license that stated I wasn't able to ride unlimited bikes Obviously in Portugal cops know that the license renovates to unlimited, but obviously all the police that checked it in Morocco over the years don't have to know that, they obviously didn't pay too much attention

Dropped the ped on her test because a twat reversed out onto the road in front of her, she was failed on observation. Gotta ring up tomorrow to find out when she can go back. Not a happy bunny at the moment. Luckily she has until October before she is 17 so I was able to pacify her with that. 1

At 16 with a written consent from their parents they can get the A1 license restricted to 11kw (15hp) and power/weight ratio of 0,1 kw/kg. At 18 they can get the A2 license restricted to 35kw (47hp) and power/weight ratio of 0,2 kw/kg. At 20 if they have the A2 for at least 2 years the can upgrade to A (unrestricted) but they have to do an exam. And if they never had any bike license before they can only get the A license at 24 years of age.

Nute
If every car driver had to do a CBT prior to their test the roads would be far safer for bikes. Might make them appreciate how vulnerable we are to them behaving like twats.
