Have you been to the Azores?  Looks a pretty cool place.  Ponta Delgada

I have, but only as a young teenager with my parents.

It is a pretty cool place, some of those Islands have less humans than cows and nature really is something over there.

You’ll be in the middle of the Atlantic, it’s a real ocean frontier. Their accent is 3 times different to any continental Portuguese than the thickest Scottish accent is to London English. Sounds like a different language, but being English you won’t notice and it’ll sound just as weird :classic_laugh:

I meant you don’t speak Portuguese so you wouldn’t know the difference.

Are you Welsh? I thought Cornwall was in England?

I know what you meant Pedro I was only teasing.   😉
The Kernwek/Cornish are a Protected National Minority within the UK as recognised by the European Union and British Government since 2014 and the British Government’s own Kilbranden Report of 1971.    Cornwall has been administered as an English County since 1898 but that doesn’t mean our Celtic national identity, language and culture was extinct from then even though the English state before that did their best to wipe it away as they did in Wales, Scotland and Ireland. There is much to talk how that came about but the point is there are many thousands of Cornish People, who know their history, and believe themselves to be Cornish and British not English.   Oh and before any Gammons explode I don’t think there is anything wrong with  being English I just don’t believe myself to be.    😘

I know who I am and my history, I am happy to talk to anyone about it if they had the slightest interest which they probably don’t 🤣
