Is this what our new fuel is doing to our bikes? Got this out of the tank with the tap out and shaking it aboutIMG_7094copy.thumb.jpg.5b076a995311a895148859c0bba7c54e.jpg

That gasket's never going back in.

I've used the body of a spare carb I had with the new needle valve just to rule out any probs with the seat.

Repacking our garden shed today....moving some things up into the loft so there will be enough space on the ground floor for Mrs. Hook's stuff that we'll be collecting this next week from her hometown in ID...which will eliminate a $80 bill every month....she's pretty stoked about that fact.👍

The gasket bloated like that is definitely caused by the shite petrol we get now.   You just can't leave a bike for any amount of time unless you drain or add fuel stabilizer.  But of course it's all saving the earth ....

I got roped into picking up and fitting a new washing machine for the mother in law today. Considering the industry i work in you'd think disconnecting and re-connecting the drain wouldn't be an issue for me but by god it stank when i disturbed it, give me a shit works any day.

Next carb fitted and alls well with that and the fork leak. Must of had a dodgy seal or something.
Got out for a 20 mile run and all was well until it coughed and spluttered to a halt. Not petrol as the rev counter was dropping to nothing and back up. Pulled over to the side of the road and pushed the button and it started again. Pushed and pulled all the connections I could give my hands on but sat there ticking over so rid home. Something to get into later.
Couple of pics while out, this is the old town pump in somerleyton and the next is just an old good looking barn with a thumb for perspective, :classic_laugh:,both on the same road.

Did you wiggle the CDI plugs you probably know they were known for dry joints on the circuit board in the CDI. When I first had the bike i had to change my CDI because of it.

I could only get a finger or 2 on them but didn't seem to make any difference. I've no doubt it'll show itself again at the most inconvenient time.:classic_laugh:
