Sir Fallsalot
Had a run on the dog this afternoon, didn't have a destination in mind and after bumming about at the start i ended up in the Elan Valley, It was going to be a nice gentle back road ride, but as usual i couldn't resist the odd dirt track as i was passing Don't know why i decided to go up here i know what its like and it doesn't get better with time or easier with age Crychan Forest was still closed by fallen trees after the storms a few months ago Not getting through there in a hurry but luckily there was a forest road that i could use as a route around it This was a nice lane but way too many gates for the length of it And another tree down too big for the silky saw but easy enough to get around Water levels looking low in the reservoirs When i got to the dam i remembered they are changing a valve at the bottom of the dam and i think they are keeping the levels low to do it, i will be there to install and wire up the control panel for it sometime this year, a job i looked at about a year ago. And this was the last photo before heading home. 160 mile round trip this was my route
YamaHead
Cool report Fred....good weather for it as it appears. Whenever I see any bike parked in or near water...I can't help but think of Pete cringing while he searches for his Prozac

boboneleg
Today I have mainly been following in Fred's footsteps (apart from the bumming). I can confirm that the trees are still blocking the sunken road and that Strata Florida is still wet ............

Did you take the forest road around the fallen trees, i noticed the barrier that normal prevents this was unlocked when i was there as if its been opened for the diversion. I haven't done Strata for a few years now i'll have to get up there this year and i found the puddles easier to go through than go around LOL.
